Tania
Globe and Mail Op-ed
A mother of three, daughter of residential school survivors, Tania has returned to pursuing her education at the University of Winnipeg, Indigenous Studies. She is from the Niisaachewan First Nation in Kenora, Ontario.
Funny story. I met Tania on Twitter. She was running a fund raiser for a family who needed help while caring for their child undergoing surgery in Toronto. After mined sent some funds to help with the need I sensed I was to talk with Tania.
After the Christmas one of a kind show Tania and I connected on Facetime. Tania introduced herself and so did I. But before I could finish she asked if I was inquiring after a woman who could use post secondary tuition funding because if I was she knew the woman.
Tania was instrumental with connecting us to one of our alumni, Lisa Strong. Now we are proud to walk with her as she pursues her dreams of post secondary education.
We will be cheering you on, Tania, as you chase your dreams!
